BODY

With colour 1 CO 6 stitches and separate evenly onto 3 DPNS.

Begin knitting in the round.

Row 1 kfb 6 times {12 sts}

Row 2 (kfb k1) 6 times {18 sts}

Row 3 (kfb k2) 6 times {24 sts}

Row 4-8 knit

Row 9 knit 12, draw end tightly through the remaining 12 stitches with a tapestry needle and secure.

Join remaining 12 stitches in the round and divide onto 3 DPNS.

Row 10-12 knit

Row 13 k4, kfb 4 times, k4 {16sts}

Row 14-17 knit

Stuff piece.

Row 18 k2tog 8 times {8sts}

Draw end tightly through the remaining stitches with a tapestry needle and secure.

Weave yarn end through the piece to bury it.

EARS

With colour 1, pick up 2 stitches on the side of the head.

Knit 1-cord for 2 rows.

Break yarn and weave the end through the piece to bury it.

Repeat on other side to make the second ear.

TAIL

Cut a 12” piece of colour 2, and make 5 x 1 inch loops on the rear, without pulling the loops tight.

Tie a short length of matching yarn around the base of the loops (like you’re putting a hairband on the tail) and tie a double knot. Bury the ends of the knot into the body.

Trim the tail to 3/4 inches.

LEGS

With colour 1, pick up 2 stitches on the corner of the body near the bottom

knit 1-cord for 4 rows

Break yarn and weave the end through the piece to bury it

Repeat on other 3 corners to make the other legs

EYES

With a black sewing thread, embroider a ‘v’ that is 1 stitch wide and 1 stitch tall on the side of the face. Bury the end. Repeat on other side for other eye.

MANE

With colour 2, embroider 10 -15 stitches on the back of the neck to create the mane. Bury the end.

HORN

With colour 3 pick up 2 stitches on the top of the head.

Knit i-cord for 4 rows.

Break yarn and weave the end through the piece to bury it.
